Folded Hills

The owners of this winery, ranch and farmstead take winemaking very personally. Their award-winning Lilly Rosé is named for one of the owner’s great-grandmother, Lilly Anheuser, who was born in 1844. So when you stop by Folded Hills for a tasting, they’ll serve up a little personality too.

Sideways Lounge

Cocktail connoisseurs can often feel overlooked in wine country, and Sideways Lounge aims to correct that. Their menu is filled with innovative cocktails, local beers and fine wines, and their space is filled with hunting lodge staples delivered with hipster sensibilities—like tufted leather sofas and antler chandeliers.

Elverhøj Museum of History & Art

It’s nearly impossible to see the Danish style of Solvang without wondering about its inception. And inside the former home of sculptor Viggo Brandt-Erichsen, you can get a good look at the history of city alongside the art it’s inspired. With rotating exhibitions and events, there’s always something new at Elverhøj.

Nojoqui Horse Ranch

There’s no more breathtaking way to see the Santa Ynez Valley than on horseback. And the Nojoqui Horse Ranch is home to private trails that’ll have you trotting across mountaintops and cantering down canyons. In addition to guided trail rides, they offer boarding services and riding lessons for all levels.

Brick Barn Wine Estate

Originally constructed to board world-class Arabian horses, the Brick Barn now boasts world-class Cabernet Francs. Surrounded by giant, ancient oaks and an Italian stonemason’s handiwork, enjoying fresh Mediterranean fare on their patio has become one of our favorite pastimes. Reservations, however, are required.

Drover’s Doughnuts

Freshly made, small-batch doughnuts with a creative twist, Drover’s Doughnuts has quickly become a favorite stop in Solvang for both locals and visitors alike. From classic glazed favorites to seasonal specialty flavors, every bite is worth the early wake-up call. Pair your doughnut with a locally roasted coffee and enjoy a sweet start to your morning just steps from The Winston.
